Alumni Ordination Feature: Zachary Ochsenbauer ’21

Meet Zachary Ochsenbauer (SJV ’21) from the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis!
Most looking forward to about Diaconate Ordination?
Preaching as a deacon. Six and a half years of seminary formation have filled my mind with many beautiful truths of our Catholic Faith and has given me a heart and desire to preach these truths to people who are so hungry to know and love our Lord more. I am excited to share the Gospel with as many people as I am able.
How did SJV prepare you for this next step?
SJV was the fertile soil that allowed my love for God to grow. The many hours I spent in prayer at SJV with my brother seminarians ignited in me a very strong desire to grow closer to God. I know that as a deacon the relationship I have with God will be the source of strength and meaning in my life.
Favorite Scripture Passage?
Jesus’ words in John 15:9. “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.” It is a reminder of the great love Jesus has for us and an exhortation to always stay close to Jesus, to never leave that love.
Please pray for Zachary as he prepares for Diaconate Ordination on May 11, 2024 and for all of our alumni who will be ordained this spring!
