Formation at SJV

Men in Christ. Men of the Church. Men for Others.

Using the four dimensions of priestly formation -- human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral -- outlined by Saint John Paul II, Saint John Vianney seminarians discern their vocation to the priesthood while devoting their gifts and energy to God's will for their future. Combined with the educational resources of the University of St. Thomas, seminarians receive a full college and seminary experience.

For every man, a mentor.

The six full-time priests on staff at SJV represent a variety of sending dioceses and received their formation at The Saint Paul Seminary (St. Paul, MN), the Pontifical North American College (Rome), Mundelein Seminary (Chicago), and Sacred Heart Major Seminary (Detroit). Our priest staff receives training and regularly contributes to the programs at the Institute for Priestly Formation and the Seminary Formation Council.
