From Our Rector

Why SJV? Because God still calls.

He still calls men to follow in the footsteps of the original disciples who have faithfully led the Church through the last 2,000 years to this very moment. God calls men to be stewards of His mysteries for the salvation of souls by reconciling all nations to His family, the Church.

The world needs generous and holy priests who will give their lives for the Gospel. At Saint John Vianney College Seminary, young men who believe they might be called to follow Jesus, the Eternal High Priest, are able to listen, discern, and hear the Father’s voice.

We honor the willingness of young men seeking to answer God’s call to “come and see” as they embrace the adventure of discipleship and discernment in seminary formation. SJV’s vibrant and healthy formative environment aims to nurture the seeds of a priestly vocation, equipping men to faithfully respond to this call with courage, conviction, and zeal.

Saint John Paul II called the formation of future priests “one of the most demanding and challenging tasks for the evangelization of humanity.” Fulfilling this task is our mission. Your part, as a seminarian at SJV, is to cooperate with the grace of God, to make an active choice for formation, and to trust the Lord. Together, we will help discern and foster your vocation to fatherhood . . . because God still calls.

Coraggio!
