In this season of fond farewells, we’d like to introduce our Senior Class of 2025. You’re sure to have a smile on your face as you read the thoughtful answers these 20 Men in Christ shared in response to four quick questions.

Underneath a thoughtfully managed organization built up by roles, meetings, and tasks, a mission-focused family is daily in pursuit of Heaven through their labors for Saint John Vianney College Seminary. Our team looks forward to many more seasons of loving labor in Our Lord’s Vineyard as they continue forming Men in Christ, Men of the Church, and Men for Others.

SJV was blessed to catch up with Judge John Sandy, appointed the 38th judge to the Iowa Court of Appeals in June 2024. “SJV helped flame the fire of ‘gift of self.’ Helping the sick, the abandoned, and the marginalized was always a calling. Over time, I came to discern that such could occur as a lawyer.”

SJV was blessed to catch up with Fr. Michael Johnson, JCL, ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis in 2009. “My ministry as judicial vicar is a unique way to participate in the salvation of souls (which all my students should know is the supreme law of the Church) by and through the judicial process.”

SJV partnered with NoGreaterLove.Life to journey with seminarians who are ministering to others at campus, on the streets, and from the sidewalks of Planned Parenthood. We hope this series inspires and encourages your own adventure of being loved by and bringing others more deeply into the Heart of the Father.
